Scholar Success Program Activities – Grade 11

Classroom SupportEducational Resources

You’re now a Junior in high school, and you’re considering what you want in a college in terms of academics, campus life and campus setting.

The three Scholar Success Program activities you’ll complete as a Junior to help prepare you to succeed after high school are:

Visit a College Campus

Visiting college campuses is the best way to get a feel for what schools are really like and to find out if they would be a good fit for you.

Take a College Entrance Exam

A college entrance exam is a standardized test that assesses college readiness. Some colleges require potential students to take one to be considered for admittance. In addition, this is a requirement for maintaining your eligibility for the 21st Century Scholarship. As of 2022, students will take the SAT exam at their high school during their Junior year.  The other college entrance exam that can be taken is the ACT.

Search for Scholarships

A scholarship is funding that supports your education and does not have to be paid back, such as the 21st Century Scholarship. The sooner you start searching for scholarships, the more opportunities you will have to apply for and receive them. Any scholarships you receive can help pay for college expenses not covered by the 21st Century Scholarship.
