MUNCIE, Ind. — As COVID-19 cases continue to decrease across Indiana, local testing sites have started to alter some of their locations and times.

During Gov. Eric Holcomb’s weekly press conference on March 3, State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said, unlike other states, Indiana will not be closing its testing sites, though some will begin reducing hours. She added it’s better to maintain the sites, instead of rebuild them, especially with new COVID-19 strains.

While Open Door Health Services will still offer testing locally and new COVID-19 and flu rapid tests at all of its medical sites, the health-care system has narrowed its community partner sites as the spread of the virus begins to slow down.

“Open Door has seen an overall gradual decline over the past couple of months, as positivity rates have decreased and vaccinations rates have increased,” said Ashley Wilson, director of clinical operations.
