We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Jill Walls, Dr. Kim Zoder-Martell, and Ms. Wilisha Scaife, in partnership with the Whitely Institute on Community Engaged Teacher Preparation, were recently selected as a recipient of an Early Years Initiative grant from Early Learning Indiana. Thanks to the generous support of Lilly Endowment Inc., they will be coordinating efforts in providing essential support for infants and toddlers in the Whitely Community (Muncie, IN). This grant will be utilized over 3 years to bring resources and training to caregivers and teachers serving children ages 0-3 years and make a positive impact on the lives of our youngest community members. The project’s main aim is to support caregivers’ and teachers’ ability to identify early language milestones, recognize common language delays, and use developmentally appropriate strategies to promote language development. At Ball State University, we’re dedicated to ensuring that every child has the foundation for a successful future and grateful for this funding to support our work. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting initiative!
