The Family Resource Centers are part of the Strengthening Indiana Families (SIF) Project, which is funded by a Community Collaborations grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Children’s Bureau. With the vision of “Strong and caring communities throughout Indiana where families have equitable access to the resources they need to be connected and safe,” we believe that all families and communities have strengths and that most parents want to be good parents, want the best for their children, and do better when they have support. We also believe that everybody in a community can play a critical role in providing support and connection to families, building on the strengths that families naturally have, reducing challenges, and promoting resilience. SIF has been collaborating and coordinating with several community partners to develop and implement four Family Resource Centers in central Indiana, to provide a comprehensive set of supports and services for families designed to improve parent and child well-being in stigma-free environments.
