MUNCIE, Ind. — The Delaware County Commissioners have loosened local coronavirus restrictions based on the lower spread of the virus and advice of local health officials.

The change was very minor to the county and state’s overall restrictions on gatherings, but an indication that if numbers continue to drop restrictions will continue to loosen.

Before Monday, social gatherings were limited to 50 people, serving as a hard cap for local events.

This policy was amended during the commissioners meeting on Monday so that large events do not exceed 25% of the host venue. In practice that allows for a larger number of attendees than the 50-person cap previously in place.
